the past, today’s cooks have discovered that cast iron skillets, griddles, pots, pans, Dutch ovens and other
types of cast iron cookware are capable of producing an amazing array of delicious, home cooked

It’s important to let the potatoes cook long enough to give it the
desired brown look and become crispy. Flip the potatoes with a spatula so that you do not tamper with the
shape.
Cooking Instructions:
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cooking Time: 35 minutes

Ingredients:
- 6
Yukon gold potatoes
- 1
onion
- 2
tablespoons of vegetable shortening
- 2
tablespoons of butter
- Salt
and pepper
Cooking Steps:
A) Slice and peel the potatoes after washing them, and chop the onion.
B) Warm up the shortening in your cast-iron skillet.
C) Place the potatoes at the bottom of the pan, sprinkle with the onion, salt and pepper and dot with
butter.
D) Cook for 20 minutes while covered with mild heat. Leave everything untouched.
E) Take the lid off the skillet and cook for about 20 more minutes.
