Give A Cast Iron Teapot To Someone You Love
Are you going to a wedding and you don’t know what to get the
bride and groom? Do they love drinking tea or coffee? Maybe you should get them a cast iron teapot. This is
the best choice if you want to give them something that will last a long time. This also has an oriental feel
to it because the usual design resembles that of a testubin which is used in Japanese tea ceremonies. This
teapot will also give a rustic and homey atmosphere to the house of the couple you’re giving it to. And the
best of all, this won’t ruin your budget.
Still not convinced? Cast
iron has been used as an engineering material for a very long time because they are easy to mold and they the
result into a material that is deformation and wear resistant. This will be the kind of material that your teapot
will be made of. You know now that it will stand the test of time. If you’re giving it as a gift, it’s also like
giving the couple a gift of history because cast iron cookware has been used by early settlers and the cast iron
teapot has been also used in traditional Japanese tea ceremonies. It will fare better than new and hi-tech
kitchenware available because it’s more durable and affordable.
But you need not just
confine your gift to just a teapot. There is a cast iron cookware that you can choose for
whatever type of cooking the person you’re giving the gift to is into. If they like cooking soups and stew maybe
it’s best to give a cast iron pot. If they love to grill or are into breakfast foods like pancakes, bacon, eggs and
the like, then it’s best to give them a cast iron griddle. If they love to fry foods then it’s best to give them a
cast iron skillet.
If you’ve already decided what to buy, the next question to
answer is where can I buy one? You can visit your local home appliance store. You can even find them in second
hand shops as well as antique stores. And you can also check the different shops online and get it delivered
if you don’t have much time to go out and pick it out yourself. You must take note however, especially when
buying from an antique store, to tell them that it is meant to be used and not just for display
purposes.
However if you really
want to buy a cast iron teapot, you will not run out of the different shapes and
designs which are available to you. The tetsubin is what most will go to when they want to be more traditional.
Even if is traditional, it doesn’t mean that it’s not stylish at all. They have a kettle teapot design and they
even come in square shapes sometimes. Some traditional designs are basket weave, floral, geometric line designs,
animals embossed designs and many others to choose from. They also come in different colors to match your taste
but again if you’re opting for a more traditional design go for the black, red, green or
yellow.
You can also slip in the
note to the couple, together with your best wishes of course, how they can take care of their cast iron teapot. Remind them that they should never put it inside
the dishwasher. It should not be placed microwave oven. And brushes, rough sponges and other abrasive cleaning
materials should be avoided when cleaning it as well as harsh detergent or dishwashing paste and liquids. Inform
them that it should be cleaned with warm water or tea instead.
