This finger food is absolutely irresistible! A tip for when baking? Put some cooking spray and cornmeal into the pan, it will make it easier for the bread to come out.

Cooking Instructions:

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Cooking time: 15-20 minutes

*Makes about 14 servings (sticks)

Ingredients:

- 2 tablespoon bacon drippings
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 cup white, self rising cornmeal mix
- 2 tablespoons all purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 cup buttermilk

Cooking Steps:

A) Set oven to 450 degrees to preheat. Take out your cast iron pans and thoroughly grease (bacon juice) then put into the oven as it heats up. Then in a sauce pan on the stove, warm the vegetable oil.
B) Using a mixing bowl and a large spoon or whisk, combine the cornmeal mix, flour, sugar, egg, and buttermilk. Make sure to blend well! Then carefully pour the hot vegetable oil into the mix.
C) With your oven mitts, cautiously remove the cast iron pan from the oven, dash some cornmeal into it and then fill with batter. Bake for 15-20 minutes. Be careful when removing from the oven, serve and enjoy!
