Some Basic Facts on Cast Iron Teapots
If you’re looking for a way to get high quality tea, you shouldn’t
just look at the leaves you’re brewing. Where you’re brewing it is also as important. Cast iron teapots are
great for brewing great-tasting tea. They are traditionally used by the Japanese, and it’s not uncommon for a
family to own a cast iron teapot or kettle.
Because they are highly
durable, they are often passed down from generation to generation. These pots make brewing easier, because a mesh
infuser basket is installed into the pot. All you have to do is load some tealeaves and you’re good to go. It
prevents the tea from going all over the place, giving you a clean brew every time. The interior is usually coated
with some enamel as protection from rust.
These teapots need a lot of maintenance. Because the enamel inside can be delicate, metal objects
and utensils should be kept away. A cast iron teapot with a scratched interior could cause rust and damage. Make
sure that you clean and care for your cast iron teapot properly, so you won’t have to deal with any
damage.
IF you take care of your
cast iron teapots, they will take care of you. They need a certain
amount of maintenance for them to last ages. You can maximize the life span of your teapot, as well as the
appearance, if you take to clean it properly after every use. Do not use soap or detergents while cleaning your
teapots. Cast iron is very porous, and can absorb the chemicals. You can use a soft rag or clean cloth to wipe
the teapot, along with some warm water.
You can find
cast iron teapots in a lot of shapes, sizes and prices. Form small
to large, simple to fancy, you’ll be able to find them all. However, if you want something that will last you a
long time, choose high quality cast iron teapots. Cast iron cookware can really perform and stand up to any job
in the kitchen.
